SECTION OF GENETICS & BIOTECHNOLOGY

Housed on the 2nd floor of the Department's Building and includes
the Laboratory of Applied Genetics & Biotechnology


Academic Field:

Basic Genetics, Human Genetics, Population Genetics, Immunogenetics, General Biology, Biochemical Genetics, Molecular Genetics, Genetic Engineering, Microbial Genetics, Developmental Genetics, Genetics of Plants, Pharmacogenetics, Genetic modification – Improvement of organisms, Biotechnology and applications in medicine, industry, agriculture, environment.

Courses:

The Section has the responsibility of teaching the following undergraduate courses: a) Genetics, b) Biotechnology, c) Human Genetics, d) Molecular Genetics and e) Biology (Department of Pharmacy)

Also, the Section  participates in the teaching of the intersectional courses: a) Genomics, b) History and Evolution of Biology and c) Evolutionary Biology

At postgraduate level, the Section coordinates the Graduate MSc Program in "Biotechnology"
